More than 50,000 people - including 15,000 journalists and 5,000 elected delegates - will descend on Denver later this month (8/25-28) for the Democratic National Convention. There, Senator Barack Obama is expected to be nominated as the party's candidate for president. As VOA's Rosanne Skirble reports, Denver officials see the event as an opportunity to showcase the Colorado capital as the gateway to the new West.
