ED - 4th November 2011 (Part 1 of 2)

Summary: Nikhil's interested to hear Pearl say that Nicky's gone AWOL on a family emergency and he's been a bit flaky recently. Soon afterwards, Nikhil enters the office and hears Gennie say that Nicky is seeing some farm animals today. Nikhil sees Nicky about to leave and tells David the conflicting stories, following Nicky as he goes. However, David chases after him, thinking he's crazy. They end up following Nicky into a pub car park and they later see Nicky exit the pub with Vicky, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

Later, at The Woolpack, Nikhil asks Nicky about his day and seeing red, he punches Nicky clumsily. However, Nikhil's mortified when Vicky enters and Nicky explains that she's helping to get Gennie a job at a car dealership. Nikhil heads out humiliated and Gennie follows, furious at his behaviour. He explains that he didn't want her to get hurt, but Gennie screams for Nikhil to leave them alone.

Meanwhile, Debbie apologises to Cameron for their row yesterday and they agree to talk. Cameron's still uneasy but agrees to the plan. Later, things are awkward as Andy takes his bag to Tug Ghyll and he and Debbie are concerned with Cameron's unhappiness as he packs to go to Alicia's. Sarah's excited about Andy staying, but he worries what they're going to tell everyone else.

Elsewhere, Priya puts her foot in it in the café when she asks Brenda what happened to Viv, while Katie tells Chas that Declan is shutting her out and wonders if he's worth the hassle.

@appleandhoneyspice @Mumbleshead The new baby has to be both Fanconi-free and a match for Sarah. If they went to a sperm clinic or even conceived naturally there's no guarantee that the baby will fit these criteria. So how the procedure would work is they would take Debbie's eggs and artificially inseminate them with Andy's sperm. They would then grow the eggs in a lab till they could be tested to see if they're a match. If there is one than they would place it in Debbie. Hope that helps!

@appleandhoneyspice Apparently it's rather more complicated than that. They need to match the sperm with an egg taken from Debbie, but it can't be just any of her eggs but one compatible(?). This illness is exceptionally rare, and I feel the writers should explain things in more detail as we go along. Unfortunately, they have picked an unmade bed as a doctor which detracts from the storyline. If they had a much sharper actor as the doctor then this story would have more impact.

i feel bad for alicia she gave up everything just to have this thrown in her face. i don't know what is the matter with andy and debbie.and this may sound stupid and please don't call me it but can't she go through a clinc to get pregnat using andy's sperm,
