A year ago, the Center for Reproductive Rights won a major victory when a judge ordered the FDA to reconsider its age restrictions and make emergency contraception available over the counter. I understand. Religious type who don't understand their own holy book don't want their taxes paying for abortions. Let's keep things fair though: I don't want MY taxes subsidizing a bunch of fanatic, know-nothing, superstitious Luddites and busy-bodies to the tune of tens of billions of dollars, either. The product of human conception at the inception is not a human either, as it cannot be viable without it's mother. I am not pro-abortion in any way and abhor it, but a day after pill certainly sounds like a more viable solution. Why try to deny others a way to manage their lives, even if it would not be your choice. You are a man anyway. If men kept it in their pants until they were committed and/or took birth control then perhaps it would not be an issue at all. Would you?

@notcomatose I'm not DECIDING when a human being begins any more than you are. The product of human conception is not a chicken, which turns into a human being at some later point. It's a human being from the start. I would rather that no one kill another human being at ANY point in their life. You believe it's okay to kill a human being for the sake of convenience, and are trying to force your belief on others. One individual's choice should not result in the death of another individual.

This issue is about individual choice. Do not try to force your "beliefs" on others. You have no right to decide it is a living human being when it is only several cells old. It is NOT "contra-ception" which is "the prevention of fertilization of the ovum by sperm cells." The "morning after" pill is aptly named because it is used AFTER it is too late! It doesn't stop conception, it kills a living human being, which if loved and nurtured, as it should be, would develop into a mature human being. Calling it "emergency contraception" is just another lie used to conceal the truth about abortion, by those who have no respect for human life.
