Descending back down to Murren, one of the few automobile-free villages in Switzerland, so it makes for a lovely stroll, especially with the amazing views across Lauterbrunnen Valley towards the Jungfrau. Murren has several small hotels, which tend to be expensive, and some traditional guesthouses where you could stay. However, there is not much to do here except hike, relax, admire the views and have something to eat. Look for a restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking the view, such as the Hotel Alpenrun, where you will find a very tasty lunch of traditional Swiss cuisine. It only takes ten minutes to walk from one end of Murren to the other. Then decide which way you want to continue: walk along the hillside road from Murren to Grutschalp, or as we choose, the quicker route, back down to Stechelback on the same cable car. Then you can take the same public bus back down the valley, or why not take a walk along the river, following the scenic walking trail past farms and meadows youll like it.
