I never grow tired of listening to any of Gordon's songs. Nice addition of the steel pedal here by Pee Wee Charles. Long live Gordon in happiness and good health. Keep the musical majesty flowing Gordon.

Well. I was trying to decide which I like more Elvis studio version or Gordon's. I have no way to decide. It's my favorite song of all time. I dearly love both. And both of these guys do different things with it. Both move me so much. I like the backup harmony on Elvis's version, and Gordon's version also kicks me where it hurts...good. So... wow an amazing lyric and melody for sure. Lightfoot: 10 Elvis: 10

saw him at the NY State Theatre in 1972 at Lincoln Center - wow! - he has always been understated and less known - but that makes him extra special -

once someone goes to the masses, they get eatin' alive and will do anything to stay alive while being consumed - this other way seems the better way - OMG - did i just use that horrible analogy about the masses? horror and marxism in one sentence

Others that kind of flew under the radar that I love are Shadows, Affair on Eighth Avenue and Too Late For Prayin'. The words for Shadows are so incredible I printed them out and have them posted on my wall, does not get any better

I've known many musicians in exactly the predicament he describes. Far from home, drunk, coming down, looking for spiritual flight, not knowing how to get unstuck. What a powerful image he paints.

I may have sent this response to the incorrect person. I meant to send it to you. Although all are welcome to any and all comments.

Computers still remain undesirable .. always changing, and more passwords than I care to keep up with. Happy music !

Song for a winter's night, I feel, is one of the finest songs ever written. (A close second is urge for going - Joni Mitchell (Joan Lee Anderson) live - 1960's ?

Check it out ! Thanks for your note.
