Why is regular cleaning considered to be a bad thing?

A professional soldier should be cleaning his weapon at least once a day. Both will run 2,000 rounds easily in a day, reliably, without cleaning. So why does it matter?

If you're carrying it around and using it, just for the purpose of rust prevention you should be relubing it regularly.

Ak47 still the most reliable assault rifle today...its so easy to use and easy to look after,unlike M16 or M4 got too many small parts and needs regular cleaning to keep them in the top shape. =P
