  • Thanks for your interest in my song. My research indicates you're right. I guess it's in the nature of legends to be mysterious; for example, people spotting Elvis pumping gas in Omaha.

  • Thanks for listening to and commenting on my song. I didn't know about the Chile connection, but anything's possible. What got me interested is the romance and mystery of the Joachin legend. No one knows for sure what happened to him after the massacre of his men. Many say he wasn't killed and escaped to Peru. ?Quien sabe?

  • Thanks Tony , I like you song "Joaquin Murrieta" and I like persons like you , I'm Mexican I live and love California and his history .

  • Thumbs up for your song!

  • This a very good song and actually the first one i've hearf in english about joaquin murrieta. great

  • Nice song Tony Vice.there is a version about Joaquin never was captured nor killed by Harry Love.Murrieta returned to his natal Sonora,México and he spent his last days there.

BTW he never was chilean, some people from that country think that because of a literary fraud that a chilean translator commited.

  • Interesting to know that many Chileans went to California during the Gold Rush and, nowadays, they remember Joaquin as a Chilean bandolero fighting for Chilean and Mexican as well against dehumanized gringos. This song is interpreted by Calchakis from Chile.

  • Dear roselovr2004,

Thanks for listening. I posted that comment as a joke when I first joined youtube, not knowing it would have my name on it! I was trying to get a rise out of Peter. Actually, I've been a fan since Panama Red. I've deleted the comment.

  • I beg to disagree! Peter's song has a lovely melody and nothing, nothing beats his transition to the Spanish lyrics in his song and his beautiful grace notes. But, sorry, I'm Mr. Rowan's Numero Uno defender.

  • always my favorite of your originals...Laurie
