ferret in your trousers

yes yes. I know I JUST uploaded a new video...
but this had to be seen.

If any of you have ever been to Alex Day's (nerimon) blogtv shows, (www.blogtv.com/people/nerimon) you'll know that he often asks his viewers to tell a story.

My story was:
"I SHOVED A FERRET DOWN SOMEONE'S TROUSERS!"
When he asked why, I responded with a simple:
"Everyone was doing it! :D"
Let's just say, he lol'd.

So this is what I was doing...
Shoving ferrets down people's trousers...

The lady at the end is Marlene. She is the head of the Richmond Ferret Rescue League, (RFRL) the non-kill rescue shelter I volunteer at.

For most animals, being trapped in trousers would be a terrifying experience. However, ferrets love confined places (like tunnels,) love to explore new places, and have fun digging and scrambling around a "maze." Though I can't guarantee that every ferret would emerge from the pants emotionally unscathed, I think that out of all the animals, ferrets are most likely to see this as a "game." Longer than 10 minutes, though, could become stressful.

Just out of interest, what is the correct way to hold a ferret? A cat for example would dislike it when you hold his belly like in the video.

Nah, the stinkier something is, the better ferrets like it. I've literally been threatened with death ferret-style for trying to recover an old sweaty gotch that had been pilfered from the laundry by one of my carpet sharks. Also the second I get home and get off my shoes, the little buggers are a/ trying to pull off my socks b/ climbing headfirst into my shoes, or c/ both at once. Go figure.
