Think about all the lives Regis Philbin ruined for wasting 500,000 dollars. He is a horrible human being who should immediately be forced to suffer with the punishment of watching any weekend update that doesn't have Norm McDonald. Amen.

I don't think that Regis screwed Norm all that much. I think Norm was leaning towards Pinehurst first, and didn't have full confidence in The Greenbrier. He seemed very nonchalant about it.

This took place in 2000. Norm commented on this on Howard Stern Show in 2008 or 2009, and said that he was still bitter that Regis made him doubt himself and waste lifelines, he would have won the million. Another factor is that Norm is a talented poker player and tried to read Regis and thought Regis was giving off signals that the answers were wrong, but he didn't know that Regis doesn't know the answers.
