  • Ah, finally, someone who is actually playing this piece with an actual RAG feel, rather than as a classical piece. Haha. Good job.

Thanks for your comment! I am basically a classical musician, but I believe in freedom of expression, even with composers like Bach, and certainly the Bolcom piece asks for a dotted rhythm.

  • Nice feel for the music -- it sounds like you really enjoy playing!

    Hi!

Thanks for your comment. Indeed, what would life be without music?

    Peace,

    Gil

  • You have a great feel for the style and I'm glad you're sharing your talent with us on youtube. The only comment I'd make is to make sure you're playing rhythmically consistently, especially in the parts around 1:30 to 2:30. Practicing these parts with a metronome would probably enhance your performance, though it's great as it is. Cheers, and I hope you continue playing well into your years.

  • Thanks for your kind and encouraging comments!

  • I am teaching myself this piece, and I find your work inspiring. Great job!

  • @homerboy488 -- homer, my love, is this the only piece you listen to? what is with your judgemental comments on these recordings? you've acknowledged that this is a difficult piece several times--can you swing and hit it?

  • Yes you've almost got it. The tempos and lilt are right, but now work on the dynamics, the repeats say a lot when dynamics change. Still yours has some real feeling to it. Thanks.

  • It is friday morning in Bordeaux France, and you've delighted me for the rest of the day. Congratulations.

  • ANNNNNND .... A swing and a MISS!!! Nice try dad, but not even close.
