My name is Maher Louis. Using Civil 3D 2010, I'm going to compare the differences of surface data from 2 levels of Google Earth with an Aerial Topo Survey.

  • Thanks a lot. Love the videos. How did you get the surfaces and aerials from different sources to come in on top of one another? Maybe you could do a video on this subject. Every time I import Google Earth and data from other sources they come in at different places in my drawing.

  • @TheCaptainA

Edit the Drawing settings by going to the Settings Tab and R-click on the drawing name....set the UNITS and ZONE.....and that will make Google Earth import the surface and aerial data correctly.

Or...you can trail and error. Bring data from Google into C3D...then zoom-extents to find the data.....then draw a shape....and send the shape back to Google by creating a KMZ....open that KMZ ....and take a look at where it come in and correct your location in C3D until it's correct.

  • @MLouisUSA: Your video is great!

Very interesting issue, logical and critical approach, background information on the subject, and very appropriate format; I found really friendly to see that there's an actual person in the video thumbnail.

  • u're too kind, dude.
