  • The apartment tapes originals are just sooo much better than the later over dubbed versions. You're actually there!! Kinda hard to imagine a world that never had a Buddy Holley. The veneer in his voice is instantly recognisable, totally unique and absolutely without a peer. Often emulated but still not surpassed.

  • Only 22 when he died and so many timeless songs. Incredibly talented.

  • What is the address of the building in Manhattan that Buddy and his wife lived in? I would like to check it out. I read an article in the NY Daily News that Dion of Dion and the Belmonts took Buddy to dinner in Manhattan to a great Italian restaurant. Buddy had never heard of parmagian cheese...Ha Ha.

  • Buddy was sensational.

  • beautiful, like i said before, buddy did not need a band. he was one of a kind.

  • @FresnoKid504 it so amazing how we can miss someone we never knew buddy will always be with us as long as we can hear is music..

  • no one else even comes close, Buddy sounds as good today as he did way back then,

  • Ocduff, That is a really cool story. Very heart touching. I was born many many years after Buddy Holly died, but I feel as though I somehow miss him.

  • Waylon states in his autobiography that he was in the apt. in late '58 when Buddy recorded this demo of LTG in one take. Then they went out for a pastrami sandwich afterwards - Waylon had never had pastrami and he hated it! Waylon genuinely loved Buddy - they were brothers in a way. I think most of us only know friendship like that once in our lives - and those guys had it. To me, this is a song of a brother warning a brother - hey, you've got a lot to learn, but it's okay. You'll get there...
