The CWR train runs by dark signals on the abandoned Chalk River subdivision with the 3rd load of rail lifted this year.

Every crossing is manually protected.

The end of track is currently just north of Renfrew, beyond the crossing of highway 60. A few photographs are presented at the beginning of the video.

CP SD40-2 5952 and 5959 for power.

  • @eccentriceric Kinda sounds like it tho. Youre right.

  • @cprailes44ac the audio is distorted that's why it sounds so bad.

  • @EasternOntarioTracks

    That´s always sad. :-(

  • cool catch !

  • F*CK

  • Part of my family has long ties to Sand Point. There is much rail history of the area as well from that bad accident about 100 years ago right up until the Braeside mill closed in the 90's. I still remember lying up at night in the summer at my Grandmothers and hearing the clacking of cars and a train whistle off in the night. Certainly a sad day for the area.

  • I swear at the 1:16 mark it sounds the the horn is crying with sadness.

  • Shameful to see that, ohh well. Nice catch Russ
