[ Sparrabeth ] Protege Moi (Protect Me)

Well, it's taken me a ridiculously long time considering it's only 3 minutes long, but here it is! My (belated) Christmas treat to you all. It's not perfect, but I've worked on it on and off for so long that I'm just going to upload it. (By the way, YT completely messed up the timing, and I'm sorry this particular vid is such crappy quality, I have no idea why it is though)

Post-AWE: Shortly after Will left to captain the Flying Dutchman, Jack and Elizabeth reunited for a final time to say their goodbyes, and Jack left Elizabeth a pirate medallion as a memento of her brief time with him. 10 years on, Elizabeth, as a woman of her word, has remained faithful to Will throughout his captaincy of the Flying Dutchman, and he has returned a free man. During her years alone, Elizabeth locked her memories of her previous life as a pirate, as well as Jack's medallion, in her bedside drawer. Will and Elizabeth are now living a peaceful life in Port Royal; the kind of life that Will has always desired. Elizabeth on the other hand cannot deny the fact that she has always wanted freedom -- she thought that she would calm upon Will's return; but he has simply brought into sharp relief how dissatisfied she truly is with a life of corsets and social constraints. Moreover, Elizabeth has never been able to shake the feeling that what she and Jack shared was not merely mutual lust; but love.

The video begins with Elizabeth putting on Jack's necklace. Not wanting Will to see it, she tucks it under her dress frantically; but later that day, she sees Jack sailing toward Port Royal. It is the first time Elizabeth has seen him in 10 years, and she rushes to meet him. But Elizabeth thinks herself foolish and leaves. Later that night, Elizabeth finds herself thinking about Jack, and the freedom that only he can offer. She goes to see him again, and tells him how she is dissatisfied with her life. He tells her that he too has longed for her, but he feels that it will never work between them. They go their separate ways, vowing not to turn back... but they each give into temptation and spend a passionate night together.

They are interrupted, however, and Will discovers Elizabeth wearing the necklace that only Jack could have given her. He makes the connection, and Elizabeth, overcome with sorrow, runs away to find Jack. Knowing it will be their last kiss, Elizabeth tells him what she has longed to say for a decade. Elizabeth knows that they will both be tortured if they cannot be together, and so does the only thing that she feels will set her free...

The reason I used a lot of film age is that when Elizabeth is with Jack, it is so surreal that she feels like it isn't really happening.
