  • I love Josh Ritter.

  • people's need to constantly make comparisons to dylan or guthrie or neil young makes me want to shoot myself in the face

  • @joeburton77 The beautiful thing is that I can also hear modern influences like Yeasayer in some Ritter's songs

  • He does draw influences from Dylan and Cohen clearly, but he is absolutely his own musician and writer.

  • @joeburton77

Well they're obviously influenced by those people, so there's nothing wrong with pointing that out.

  • This makes me want to get a basement.

  • the beginning is London Calling

  • @joe reason is that people like to compare to the best... runners compared to Usain Bolt... Swimmers to Phelps... Climbers to Chris Sharma... it's just common. I would never go as far as to say one is better then the other like (constancecv) but if someone asked me what Josh Ritter was like I am sure that at least Dylan would come up.

  • Dylan is a great songwriter, but not the greatest performer.

  • @joeburton77 Your'e right, he's not nearly as good as the old guys.
