The Rozella Schlotfeldt Lecture Series presents Maxine A. Nunez, Dr.PH, MSN, RN, a professor and research and pilot studies core director at the University of the Virgin Islands and former secretary of the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators. A native of the Virgin Islands, Dr. Nunez studied nursing in the United States and worked in community health on the mainland, then returned home to work and teach. Dr. Nunez will talk about the major health problems of the Caribbean region and the state of health care within the economic and social context. She will introduce a case study of the U.S. Virgin Islands and discuss the next steps about approaching healthcare equity in the region. Recorded on April 25, 2008 in Ford Auditorium.
