if it's a 2 channel mixer just plug the laptop to the 2nd channel.

If you want to use the turntable to control the software on the computer then you will need hardware that lets the turntable send signals via time coded vinyls like serato.

its an American audio velocity (it scratches cds) and its connected to a pioneer djm-3000 and i want to control the dj software with both of them?

yup, sorry it won't work, the AAV does not talk MIDI, therefore yo can't control DJ sotware unless you spend more money on hardware box that converts timecoded cd's to allow you to control that software..

turntables require a timecoded vinyl in order to send a signal to a box like serato scratch live, from their it sends a signal back to your laptop. So in order to use turntables you need a box to go inbetween them. I'm still waiting for a turntable to have built in MIDI control then we wont need serato anymore.
