For the Skipped Cutscene at 5:16: Sub Zero tells Sonya to take a nearby portal back to earthrealm and he leaves to the Colleseum to find Shao-Khan. Sonya takes jax there and the scene shifts to the Colleseum where Kitana is fighting a random earthrealm male. She wins but hesitates to kill him, remembering when Lu kang spared her life. Then Subzero appears and challenged Scorpion, but they give him Reptile instead. Thanks to Heavenscry02.

@IcyOne4884 I think that is because Sub-zero can make his own weapons of Ice, so he doesnt really use other weapons. And Smoke is this legendary being of Vapor and smoke, so he wouldnt have to use modern weapons.
