Just goes to show what a waste of time voting is. The public made it clear it wanted term limits after the years of corruption of the Guiliani administration so when a referendum was introduced, the public voted for it overwhelmingly. The city council, knowing that a new vote to extend term limits would never pass, took it upon itself to change the will of the people. And now we know how much it costs to be mayor of NYC. 100 million. No reason to vote- government no longer answers to the people
