Do you get anything extra or any kind of bonus for blowing your opponent by a larger margin? Like if one game you win 63-1 and another game you win 33-31, does getting more pieces compared to your opponent benefit you more than if it was a close game where you barely won?

In a tournament initially a win = 1 point whatever the score. However where a tie break is required to separate those on equal points. A system known as BQ, which I think stands for ‘Brightwell Quotient’ is used which is a measure of the number of discs that you acquired weighted by the ability of your opponents.

Well.. ok maybe thats a little wrong. but it should be noted that with that move even if you are joining up your pieces you are doing so at the expense of sacrificing the other two points. Which is more important.

and also.. in that position it is easy for black to break them up again. while with the E2 move its not so easy.
