This afterschool club was designed to foster awareness and acceptance among students in both the general education program and the special education program. Through a variety of techniques, including group discussions, outdoor activities, center play and peer interactions, the club worked to maintain communication and social interaction between children with autism and typical functioning kindergarten children. The relationships promoted in the program were also observed outside of the club.
