this is quite bad touchpads i have ever used. and the previous thinkpad touchpad is actually quite good. all they really needed to do is to just increase the pad size and then add the multi-touch capability and that would have been gold.

after a while, your fingers would lose their fingerprints with the constant rough abrasion.

so there are raised bumps on the touchpad, wouldnt that make it feel weird or uncomforatble or ticklish when your moving it?? i never felt one before so can anyone give some opinion

@tf88888888 that's a software problem, it works flawlessly in ubuntu, multitouch and all

hey david hill is it possible to fix the touchpad? the feeling of this touchpad wears out the finger and my fingers are actually getting worn out by the flush touchpad. also i think the new keyboards of the thinkpad feel louder and more "clicky"
-
actually the touchpad is better as you use it longer because it gets more worn out

too bad its extremely buggy. it often freezes up. even down i am still a fan of thinkpad, i have to give it up for the macbook pro for the best trackpad lol...but other than that thinkpads are the best...

To add to what FormulaWill said - please don't ever get rid of the trackpoint AND please don't view sales figures of the touchpad option on the X201 as a sign people don't use trackpoints - I know I'm one of the buys who add to that number, but I used the trackpoint and the touchpad about 50/50. Touchpad is great when you have all the space in the world, and the trackpoint is great when you have a book covering your touchpad or oil/grease/water on your hands.
Please don't ever get rid of the Trackpoint!
