We check out a solar powered car cooling system. It says it's good to cool your car while it's in the parking lot on a warm day. We put it to the test. Reporter: John Stehlin

the only reason why he's didn't work on that truck in the video is because his windows were tented...and it says it doesn't work on tented windows.

  • thank you so much, saved my life. I am making one of these for my major design project only i am linking solar panels to the air-conditioning inside the car to vent cool air in and my design of that will vent air out

  • This actually works quite well. My windows aren't tinted, which makes a difference. Or so I've heard. However, It does make a noticable difference in direct sunlight, without TINTED WINDOWS.

  • @bliss55films I have one I just throw it on my dash, its no air conditioner, but if your car sits out in the sun it beats nothing at all, some how just circulating the air seems to help. my 2 cents anyway.

  • @camaroman101 No, it's on the inside sucking air out through tiny vents. It's exactly like the one in the video, however it is not solar powered.

  • @FCA1975 is the fan facing an open window?

  • Here's what I did since I have tinted windows: I already use a sunshade/sun visor, so I put a Solar Panel Recharger (from Harbor Freight Tools for less than $10) in front of the sunshade (further towards the dash crevice), then I used the 12 volt powered ventilator fan I bought years ago and hooked to the solar powered battery charger/12-volt power unit. Works for me just fine. No it is not super cool, but it makes a hell of a lot of difference than the sunshade alone.

  • i was gonna buy on ebay but wised up to the con and thought better search youtube for a review!!! just as well ay??!

  • Here's a better way to keep the car cool. Tint your windows with a high quality tint and buy a windshield sunshade. It keeps the car so much cooler and actually works.

  • 5 fucking minutes though? why not at least give it an hour? u expect that little fan to cool a car in 5 minutes?
