1966 was a good year for television. Here we have my old friend Lewis Marvin appearing in the "beef box" of all places on the Joe Pyne Show. Lewis was a kind, but somewhat confused, prototype vegan.

I spent many nights at his Moonfire happenings from 1966 to 1968 doing art for peace and it was a great time. Lewis was from a wealthy east coast family [The S & H Green Stamp fortune] but walked away from it all for peace and animal rights work.

When he died in Panama in 2005 it was a loss to us all.

  • This is the guy that presented Jim Morrison a lamb on stage in my Miami. And the floppy hat Lewis is wearing here appears to be the exact floppy hat that Morrison took from him and can be seen wearing in many photos from the infamous Miami concert. Haunted studios did you ever get a chance to talk to Jim?

  • @cvjucla3

In 1967 Morrison, Randy Blackfox, George Armstrong Custer III [aka asshole George] and I [all members of Vito's Dancers] climbed the full stairs up to the top of the 9000 building on Sunset Blvd and smoked an awful lot of dope . . .

  • WOW what a weirdo!!!

  • Hey, it's Lewis Beach Marvin III, the dude from the Mondo Hollywood documentary! He sounds pretty stoned here though. In Mondo Hollywood, he also mentions that he is a vegetarian, and has a pet monkey named "Mr. President."

You can watch Mondo Hollywood on Hulu dot com for free (YouTube seems to forbid links in the comments). Just go to hulu dot com and type "Mondo Hollywood" in the search field.

  • Was this poor guy whacked out on acid?

  • @HauntedStudios That's cool. Ahhh, yes, The 9000 building across the street from the Rainbow and Roxy. It hasn't changed much. Rolling onto Sunset for some good times between Clark and Doheny, the 9000 building always stands tall. Later Jim would do his dance on top of the roof in 1969 while filming and finishing his movie "HWY." I'm sure that the conversation was interesting and stimulating!!! And you had a blast up there!!!

  • Joe Pyne was asshole father of Glenn Beck.

  • Important to remember: It's a SHOW.

  • If it was not for Joe Pyne, there would not be any of these political nut jobs running around. He gave birth to this combat, political commentary which O' Reilly, Glenn Beck and Rush has adopted.. Yes, 1966 was a very good year if you lived in the Los Angeles area for televison, but most of these antics are now adopted now. One must look at Fox News and see why..

  • Joe Pyne comes off as a real asshole

boy I can see now where O'Reilly got all his ideas
