  • one question, what are like the things to change or repair on a 83' 240D. like regular maintence from low to high you get me.. i know the oil change for one but i am a first time MB owner plz help.

  • Search through Mercedesshop and DieselGiant.

  • What does 3.0VNT stand for? Is VNT the engine name?

  • The car is a Mercedes 240D. 3.0 means I have the 3L Inline-5 turbodiesel, VNT means Variable Nozzle Turbo.

  • @europork Only for those that dont know to drive..

  • @europork

I guess that depends upon whether you prefer the most bombproof manual gearbox ever to be designed.

Anyway - automatic gearboxes are for girls! :-)

  • @Turbo617 i thought the 240ds were inline 4 cylinders

  • nice video, great driving with stick nothing compares

  • That manual tranny is epic, wish i had one.

  • @coolakiIlen007 il check them out! greetz! (:

  • @BmxDieseldude thats good i dont think i have to change the discs but probably other stuff i cant name in english :P i have vids of it now on my channel of starting it up and breaking it loose! :) greetz!

  • @coolakiIlen007 It had been outside for probably 6 months or so of it. So i guess the brake discs were okay to be driven, but the man i bought it off of put new discs and pads all around. I had to replace the passenger rear caliper a few months ago because that seized. Found a torn CV boot when i went to replace the caliper. >:( Oh well, time to attack the parts car. I think im going to put new HD blistien shocks in all round this spring.

  • @BmxDieseldude 8 years that is some time.. but i presume it wasnt outside?? mine was and the brakes is the biggest thing stopping it from going.. then we need to get a new rustfree exhaust and front suspension.. love the car!!!

  • @coolakiIlen007 that's a steal! I knew the previous owner (he only had it for a year, till he decided to get an 87 SDL, awesome car) and when he originally bought the w123, it had sat for OVER 8 YEARS. He through in a battery, changed the fuel filters, and connected the fuel and return line to a 2 gallon jug of diesel behind the passenger headlight, and drove it home. Fluid and brake disc/pads change and it's gone over 38k from us in two years (i put on 24k in a year ha) Good to see fellow w123s
