This is my son Logan participating in two conservation task experiments. These experiments model Piaget's theory that children in the preoperational stage exhibit centration, which is the ability to focus on only one thing at a time. Logan, however, did recognize that the liquid quantity remained the same, which goes against Piaget's claims for children's thinking during the preoperational stage. This was conducted in our home and was not administered in a notably scientific manner.
