A former member of British lovers rock trio Brown Sugar (along with with Pauline Catlin and former Soul II Soul member Caron Wheeler.
This is how lovers rock should be done: the music (courtesy of Mad Professor) is buttery smooth, Kofi's vocals are similarly mellow,
Her first solo single was "Place in the Sun." Later she released an album on Mad Professor's Ariwa Records, Black...With Sugar. "Proud of Mandela," a remake of a song from her debut, reached the top of the reggae charts in 1990.

Kofi's music is simply "good music". filled with Universal love and Good for the soul."...The Queen of Lovers Rock.
