how do you get point cloud data? I would like to touch probe scan a model and import into CAD for refinement and then cnc build.

Where do those soldered leads hook up to? Just a ground?

Good info. You should just make a centering tool and a z plate in one though. if you ad an angle to the bottom of the plate you can but it against the corner of the work piece and get the center from the top once you square the bottom up.

very interesting I wonder if the ring on the plate is not x,y exactly with the table of the mill than probe might not et the longest diameter inside ring as cross section and eventually not give me factual center.

Another words if my piece of material is not accurately aligned with the table than plexi-glass bracket holding ring I will not get cross reference reflecting center ?
