Thank you for answering my question. I want to work as an au pair in the UK, so flying won't be a problem, since I can go there by boat.

Yeah, CC requires, but Alli doesn't. :) That's why I'm going to USA as an au pair through Alli, they require that you have succesfully completed Elementary school. Of course they also require the age of 18, like CC, but they know that it doesn't matter do you have a secondary education or not, since the most important thing is that you speak good english, have experience from child care and you're willing to live one year in USA. Thank you Alli, you saved my dream. <3

I think it's only about the Au Pair Application for "Cultural Care"
I'm from Germany and I'm going to spend a year in the USA as an Au Pair, next year in July.
I'm signed in at Cultural Care and I love it!!
Right now I'm finishing my application and send it away on monday morning.
I hope I'll get a nice family. (=

I will be done with secondary school when I'm 17, and I want to work as an au pair for a year, before I go to college. Do you really HAVE to be 18 to work as an au pair?

Hi LadyLoraella, You can apply to become an au pair if you are 17 years old but when you board the plane to travel to the U.S. you must be at least 18 years old.

Some au pair organizations (at least in here) accept au pairs who DON'T have secondery education. Elementary school is enough. I don't see why it wouldn't be enough? The only difference is when going to high school is that you learn new words in english and that's it. You can have a better english skills by going for english courses, so you don't need high school.

Hi Queny87, Cultural Care Au Pair requires that all of our au pairs successfully complete their country's secondary education. We do this to make sure our au pairs candidates have the maturity level and commitment to education necessary to have a successful exchange experience.
