@shander29 yea, definitely just depends on your taste. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum....I actually did not like the version on Idol at all. The performers were great, I just did not care for their arrangement of the song. The original will always be the best, in my opinion. But a great song nonetheless!

@OverCastMilk I just came here to listen to the original. ... sorry, but I guess im not a Buddy Holly fan I guess because I'm so glad they did what they did on Idol. That was one of the best idol performances ever. (like in the top 100 or so, not like top 10)

I must have listened to the idon peformance 25 times now.. but I love rythem and blues, and gospel and the grateful dead and that kind of stuff

Great song. lyrically shining. The guy is desperatly trying to convince himself that he'll get over her, resoving to stop pining for her, but, like those of us who have loved and lost, deep down he knows he never will and he will always remember her.
