How can you protect the walls of the home from gun shots? I live in a two story home and been trying to figure out where would be the safe place to be in case of the worst happening, got any suggestions? My house is sliding no brick or stone to protect me. Can you buy a solid steel door for entry of the home? I don't know much about self protection or getting the home ready, just doing this alone. Need suggestions. Thanks

Yeah You can get a steel door. Will be expensive though. for the front of the house you could put in raised flower beds that are made of thick wood or brick/stone. Then at least if you ever came under fire you could get low and would be safe laying down at least.

What if they break the glass in your window and start shooting?

That's a possibility. Eventually I plan to get window bars which would stop them from coming through the windows. They could still shoot it, but they wouldn;t be able to see what they are shooting at, so unless they got me with the first couple random shots I could probably duck and cover. My house is concrete block so if I stay low I would be pretty safe from random small arms fire.

Can you put a heavy steel gate over your door--like a screen door, but of steel. They use those in Mexico a lot.

Yeah they call them 'storm doors' around here. That is something I would like to get at some point.

Put brackets on the walls and drop a 2x6 into block the door when you are inside. Kattie bar the door style

Guard dogs work too, their dog food can be the intruder. Stayingawake20 had nice security for doors and windows. Sometimes the old way is better tractor supply carries the brackets needed, install when SHTF. Agree never show what you have! Arrows cut right through bp vest. If things get bad and ppl get sick write in red paint "quarantined" sick people inside on ur house, could will prevent people from crashing in for a while. Cree 5mode flashlights with strobe (at least 1000Lm) is a must have!

i work in the HVAC industry and the number of units stolen for copper is thru the roof.we have even started offering a steel cage to go around your unit. its nuts the theif is way more prepared to steal it then most people think.

Window bars a pretty suspicious and stick out like a sore thumb. It could also make you a possible target for theives. Probably better saving up for dual ply bulletproof glass if you want to go to that extent
