@clarinetcat if you want to give it a try yet, maybe try to start with HM5 this is harmonic minor scale started from the fifth upwards or in other words phrygian (major scale started from the third upwards) with a major third - e.g. C-Db-E-F-G-AB-Bb-C ;-) HM5 is not soo difficult and sounds fantastic ;-)

btw, do you know about any didgeridoo technique on the bass clarinet? besides circular breathing, i'm trying to do things like this: /watch?v=1Rpsx09E8D4 , and taking out the mouthpiece and play it like a didgeridoo, but it's rather difficult for someone who doesn't play the didgeridoo.

@LulaRMuniz to get the didgeridoo-like sounds he is getting on the bass clarinet, you have to add vocals to the clarinet drone... basically, activate your vocal chords and sing into the instrument while you play it. While this can be done on any wind instrument, the technique is rarely heard on instruments other than the didgeridoo. (I also play didge in case you hadn't seen any of my other videos).

nice but you should try more sophisticated scales like "double harmonic minor", "double harmonic major", "mixolydian #11", ... and it will catapult the hole thing in a new dimension!

@groovedoc Well, if I was an accomplished jazz improv player (which I am not), I'd be more inclined to worry about such trivial things as making the music more sophisticated. Sometimes (in my opinion), simple is better. Thanks for your input!
