Six-legged robot or hexapod with 3-servo leg mechanism, 3 gait-modes with 3/3 beat * Autonomous robot, without R/C, power supply included - present state -
Apart from the parts turned on a lathe, only simple hand tools are needed for the construction * 18 servos of type GRAUPNER RBS581 fitted with ballbearing races * There are no sensors installed and therefore it needs flat hinderance-free surfaces to operate * The basis of the aluminium parts is extruded U-profile from D-I-Y shop and aluminium sheeting AlMg3 * The two six-sided, black mountings are of epoxy-based printed circuit board material * The round inner holders for the control logic, battery and servo cables are modified 25-disks CD spindles * All servos can be mounted in their cage in 4 positions * Total weight is 1.6 Kg (including control software).
Power supply is from a 2-cell LiPo-akku - 7.4 V / 2100 mAh / 20C * Voltage reducer to 5 V for supplying the central Atmega32 and the Atmega8 controller for the separate servo-driver * Serial, bidirectional communication between the controllers * The control programme is written in BASCOM-AVR 1.11.9.0 incl. a small piece Assembler (now 9,2 kB code total)

  • There are 18 Digital-Robot-Servos RBS 581 from the german company GRAUPNER-ROBOTICS,

    4-9V / 104Ncm / 2x90° / 38x19x40mm / 42g),
