"The Juno Brothers"

Both classic Juno`s are different in sound but both synths are great!

bassline: Roland Juno-60, the internal arpeggiator is triggered by the Roland TR-606
sweep sound and soft pad: Roland Juno-106
drums: Roland TR-606

  • Check Analogue Renaissance for replacement chips. I got one and it sounds just like the originals.

  • @rdproductions01 Yes! VSTs and digital wave-table "synths" are of the future! I'm just kidding. Music is no fun without my analogs. The software stuff lacks the richness of analog, and tries to cover that with excessive reverb and delay.

  • @NightfurMovie I'd say the 60 has better bass (if you set it right). I'm pretty sure the neighbours were feeling some of it :p

  • 10 people think VST rules...

  • I could listen to the 60 non-stop for hours. One night I took mine up to the club and patched it into the mixer and let the arp go on a smooth arpeggio for background between sets. A couple people asked what was playing. It just feels very nice in the brain, the sound of this synthesizer...and slowly opening/closing the filter with a touch of LFO really made the soft arp come to life. Love that synth. :)

  • Would you say that the bass on the 106 can get bigger, juicier, etc. than the 60?

  • @KeltyVince I agree, i own a JUNO 106 bought in 1985, use them 2 a 3 times weekly for almost 26 years and it is still running without dead voice chips and the same (not leaking) battery. Am I lucky ore ...

If you can buy the 106 ore 60 ore 6 ore whatever from those old juno synths, you won't regret. And forget the discussions about which sounds better.

  • Got a nice minimoog under those, too

  • ha this is one of the few videos i ever saw where the player doenst rape the synth..... sounds neat,,,

  • You should do a cover of 'Cars' by Gary Numan and Tubeway army...you definitely have the technology!!
