Rant on Stereotypes

Just some thoughts of mine on stereotypes. I said some things originally about racial stereotypes but for the sake of preventing dozens of stupid comments, I left it out. Here's Dan's channel again even though most of you guys found me from him.

Speaking of stereotypes..I hate the fact that people expect that Since I'm black I like watermelon, listen to rap and eat Fried chicken..first of all i hate watermelon. yea i like fried chicken but people shouldnt just assume that because of my skin color. And I listen to rap but thats not all i listen to. I listen to nirvana all the time and listen to all sorts of different music. Keep making your awsome videos

@UtubePhuckinSux Well you seem aware of a lot of things going on in the world and you take interest in other things like playing guitar and the things you talk about in your videos. It's not like that's your whole life. That's kind of what I meant in the video. People that don't really care about anything at all and do drugs every day, multiple times a day.

honey, i dress a lot like you, and if youre going to dress like that, youre dressing like that because you like that style. youre trying to fit in with a certain group... i listen to music from all sorts of eras and all sorts of genres, but i like the goth/punk style. i know youre going to respond saying, "dont label me!" or something like that but youre the one setting your self up for it. if you are going to dress like that, be able to except criticism without whining. you dont see me ranting.

@ACDCwarmachine But you see, I have a lot of different things in my wardrobe. It's not all that style. I have a few vintage pieces, some oriental ones, shirts that are quite colorful. I just havent made any videos in them. Even when I wear that stuff people still label me. And I'm not whining, I'm just saying that to put a label on someone is pointless and honestly just stupid.

Sometimes grouping is bad, but it's needed because even though they may not define you as a whole or you as a person, it does label a certain aspect ABOUT you, and without labels and names to define behaviors and styles, life would be a mess.

For example, I'm a basketball player, I listen to metal, I dress like an "indie" kid in public, I'm obsessed with video games and making art. Can I be put into one of those categories as a whole? No, but I do fit a certain aspect OF all those stereotypes.

@CrazehWeirdo Yea i have been called punk, goth, emo, and scene. I hate stereotypes soo much. One day at my school someone asking this person if they were gothic because they were wearing a black shirt, how stupid is that. I wish people would stop with the stereotype and grow up. Grr

i remember my first day in middleschool i was in a class and this guy asked me what was my label. i was just like wtf? i dont have one im myself. i think the only people that can be labeled are those who label.

i hate how when i skateboard people think I smoke weed and i got arrested for skateboarding because they thought I was littering. I don't like labels either. Great video btw.

I use to go school with Liberty Spikes and just a whole bad ass punk attire lol It was awesome lol but nobody knew what the hell I was! one kid was like "Wait are you Goth? no no wait are you in Theater? What are trying to be?" he literally said that ah I miss high school lol

The people at my school say I'm goth because I paint my nails black, I have side swept bangs, and I like bmth. e_e oh yeah, some people say I'm scene too. All the kids at my school are super preppy. No "emo/scene/punk" at all. ALL preppiness.

Your video just basically made my night. I consider myself a very unique person also, Harry Potter is basically my favorite thing in the world, my music taste ranges from pop punk, to some metal. I also love anime, and spend too much time watching it. Your last little bit about heavy drinking, and how you respect teens that don't do that really made me happy too, since I'm one of those teenagers, and I love it. You're pretty inspiring, and would be good at speak off's. :P
