@TranceCore3 The plot holes are what makes indie games fun, and it'd be a futile attempt. What if the prequel isnt as great as this game? What if covering one plot hole made another? That's the glory of a game such as this, and VVVVV, and many other great indie titles.

Also in game, it is hinted that Pooh Black is a ghost. Maybe it's a ghost of a previous "Balrog" or a failed attempt at creating something as strong or stable as Balrog. In any case though, as far as this game's storyline goes, it needs a prequel, and perhaps a sequel. Or maybe just a series of prequels, because to my understanding, there has been more than two wars in the past events of this game (one for each crown holder)

If you get the best ending, you'll find out that Misery is the one who created the crown. Jenka did indeed create the labyrinth (it's explained clearly in game) The core itself could be some natural phenomenon. it IS a floating island, and something has to be making it float. In this case it's the core. Why the island floats after ballos AND the core are destroyed is something that needs to be explained. I have reason to believe that curly and quote's created are unimportant
