Here is a chilling piece of music from the closing minutes of "The Pandorica Opens". I thought this scene was set out excellently, the look of fear on the Doctor's face throughout really does show how seriously Matt Smith takes this role and how brilliant he is as the Doctor.

It is a very troublesome bit of work as the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans and even the Doctor himself have been dubbed over the soundtrack but I used Audacity to get it.

Nevertheless, please enjoy, comment, rate and subscribe!

  • Oh! And I believe this song is called "The Patient Centurian"

  • @Selias64 No its not called that, its "The Life And Death of Amy Pond" but as it was unreleased at the time I had to give it a name.

  • Know what I think was the most horrible thing about this episode?

The music sealing him up was so beautiful. Not dark. Or intimidating. It was beautiful, like the good ending of a story.

And the doctor was being sealed up, unable to even die, for all of eternity and beyond.

    It was terrifying.

  • @OrionoftheStar I think that definitely means something signifcant. If we're getting music like that promoting its good that the Doctor is being imprisoned, could this mean that something will happen where he goes bad (or we'll get a bad version of him or something?) cos the Alliance said "The Doctor will destroy the Universe." Rogue Ganger maybe?

  • 3:13-3:47 really chilled me to the bone. The music shows that The Doctor has finally been defeated and the universe is coming to an end, and just when i thought the music couldn't get any more sinister, it just STOPS.......

incredible piece of work, but just wish i could find the music without the voices :(

  • @blahhhh915 Check out "The Life And Death Of Amy Pond" :)

  • LOOOOOVED this episode. I loved how at the end of The Pandorica Opens the Doctor was like "listen to me!" and The Alliance is like, "whatever, lock him in there and get out the champagne."

    LOL xD

  • Its a shame the OST version doesn't have that bit at the end

  • Yay!! I love this piece of music, definitely one of the best used in DW, but the official version is missing one of my favourite moments - from 3:35 on, the way the music builds and then cuts out as the universe explodes. That has got to be one of my favourite cues in all of Doctor Who so thanks so much for posting it!

  • Part of this theme was used in the impossible austronauht at the end when amy shoots the little girl

  • @OrionoftheStar Terrifying beauty, everything that is the Doctor.

  • @OrionoftheStar : I liked that too.

  • Oh, 1 more thing... The Murray Gold (composer) album IS the music used in the original season broadcast but in it's entirety for each song (in the broadcast production they 'mix' soundtrack into the production). The songs are shorter and you will note reoccurring sounds.
