From where I'm from, kratom (or ketom as we call it) is as common as tea.. I myself have a couple of trees in my backyard. Although proven effective in helping addicts going through withdrawal & even quitting heroines, sadly the usage of kratom are prohibited in Malaysia. The government seems to prefer methadone to cure the addicts, rather than using the kratom.
