  • It is my understanding that the top gear is the main drive gear and the bottom is the tail drive gear. The one way bearing is also called an antirotation bearing because it stops the gear from spinning backwards. picture the motor being siezed, the bottom gear and the head can still spin in the correct direction but not backwards. this is important if the heli is falling and you have positive pitch, it is going to want to spin the head backwards not creating lift. hope this helps...

  • yep thank you

  • Hi, i took a closer look at the pitch on these blades. They are not autorotation blades, if u imagine air pushing up through these blades you will see that the would actually want to make the gear spin the wrong direction. Putting neg pitch in your collective is what causes the main blades to spin for autos. These are cooling blades, they draw air past your servos and blow it on your rx and motor. Therefore i assume you could auto with the exi blades, but nice upgrade none the less :)

  • thanks steve

but i still wonder why they call it a anti-rotation gear ? hmmmm

  • they call this anti rotation gear because it has the anti rotation unit installed in it which when autorotating lets the main and tail gear run free while blades run in reverse in the asscent part of autos. these gears can be brought seperaatly so that if its just your main gear that is stripped only it has to be replaced at a fraction of the cost of a whole main gear assembly hope this helps Helibrit
