Without more facts I can't make a condemnation of his point of view. The disappearance of ethics in our culture definitely aided our economic problems. I'm all for free markets, but everyone can agree there should be ethics involved. I'm disappointed he actually (if he did) used the phrase "redistribution of wealth." I'll have to look into that.

--I think that has been exaggerated. Pope Benedict is a great believer in the USA's freedom and free market system. "Helping the poor" is a major tenet of Catholicism, and is a far cry from "redistributing the wealth around the world." Only Catholic-haters are spreading that misrepresentation.
