  • Hi! That´s a great amp, I got this amp and i love it!. Nice very nice, what´s the name of the song??? Thank you, and congratulations for your Marantz!

  • @fmlucentini 'Hold On, Hold On' by Neko Case.

  • This particular model isn't very popular, with a low 15 WPC rating. They do very well with small speakers, like those you'd use for low volume ambient music (like a pair of small a/d/s speakers in a dining room of a B&B). It is a quality item, but, no, it doesn't sell for much. I sold this amplifier for $40.

At it's age, capacitors may be drying out already - it is expecially important to check or even replace the output capacitors; if they short, you will have a high voltage on your speaker.

  • i got one of these worked for a lady and she said she was throwing it away and gave to me, it 140 watt but still good, i got a 3 way sony speakers, and 3 way pioneer speakers on it, sounds preaty good

  • Your little speakers are beautiful.

  • I have Marartz 1030 as well as x2 Marartz 1050 and Alesis RA300 for separate amplification of my JBL sound system.

The 1030 I picked up 20 years ago for around £45.00 the 1050 I paid each around £40.00

The 1030 volume dial needs bit of cleaning as its starchy not a big deal since the level is set for a comfortable SPL db for the sidewall JBL control 1 arrays.

The 1050 are used for powering the HF on the modified JBL control 5 LCR from the Behringer DCX2496 while LF is supplied from the RA300.

  • Hah, you know I was looking for rack mount ears for this thing? I guess I won't be drilling any holes into it now. I thought this was just cheap stereo amp, but it's not is it?

  • Beauty - Apparently this is a common configuration for a Marantz 1030 - Mine has two brushed aluminum Minimus-11 Speakers. I was given these by my Recording Engineer when he closed down his studio and moved. We used to use the syste, to listen to our mixes and I use it here form the same reason.

When I want to know exactly what something sounds like, I mix it through the 1030.
