The level is called 'Is Don is good' because of the Australian Rules Fotball team that AReyeP (and myself) supports named Essendon, or 'The Don's' for short. The club is one of the oldest (150+ years old) and one of the most successful. The original teams where named after suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria that they hailed from.

Australian Rules Football is like a religion here, everyone has a team they support and most people are fairly fanatically in their support of their team.

this level is quite an odd reference, but it makes sense when you realise the creator of this is Australian :)

@IgnizandZero Interesting! I also did a quick look up of Is Don Is Good and I must say - I get it now!... sort of. At least, I get it a little more than when I started the level.

I'm perpetually ecstatic of how many people still love/prefer Wolf3d, Doom and Duke more than any new games. They will never die and have yet to have a game come even close

This secret level was not too friendly to me when I played through it, I never got the reference in the level but oh well.

Part 2 - Each team has an emblem, Essendon's is the plane as when they were founded the Melbourne airport was in the suburb of Essendon at the time. Essendon is also called 'The Bombers', hence the plane. This emblem has now changed to a lot more modern version but the jumper they wear in their games is the black with red stripe shown in the background behind the plane.

@Balames87 - "Is Don, Is Good" is a quote from a ham company, Don's, old ad campaign. You should YouTube search it to see it for yourself :-)

@WolfensteinSJ - I haven't watched the video (on mobile), but I can see the old Essendon Bomber's, an AFL (Australian Rules Football) logo in the thumbnail.

Areyep is Australian and I remember reading in the txt folder for this mod that he threw in an AFL reference in the secret level for his son. I got excited about finding te said level, but must have missed it.
