Saffron our Blue and Gold Macaw Sleeping (awww

I stopped by after work and brought my little camara with me. After perching for almost a half hour and flapping her wings, little Saffron was all tuckered out and slowly falls asleep. Shorlty after I also fell asleep. (LOL)

It says online they can cost anywhere from $800 to $2000.

You can always adopt; just need to find the right place. The shelter where I volunteer has 2 blue and gold macaws, 1 scarlet macaw, and 1 cockatoo! (Among many other things)

@1john1992 Agreeing with WiiniWins on research. Be prepared for potentially a lot of noise (on one of my vids, you can hear my blue and gold upstairs screaming at my cockatiels who are trying to talk to me while I'm doing a tutorial downstairs. I forget which, I can find it if you want to hear it). He is a sweet bird, otherwise. :P Some rescues will let you take a bird home on temporary basis and the foster home will work with you to see if the bird is a good fit. All 3 of mine are adopted.

@1john1992 It varies from shelter to shelter. They usually have information available online, including their adoption fees, otherwise you can always give them a call or send an email. But please, before youget a macaw, do your research. They're not always the cuties youtube makes them out to be.

@cassnluv I advise caution with any of these online sites. 90% of the listings are fraudulent--they want your money, but don't have any bird to sell. I went to a parrot place to buy my bird. Much better, and you get to know the breeder and the environment your babby grew up in.

@mdzitro actually there are ppl who will let u re-home their parrot on oodles.com. sum ppl will giv it for free! they are already trained, and most ppl provide the cages for u too! very helpful site!

my blue and gold macaw (nemo) is the sweetest thing ever! Altho she is going through a toddler stage where she is seeing that she can get away with..... she is still the BEST bird ever!!! (and the first one i've had since my mom thought that me and my sister were able to respect a bird)

Awwww. Sweepy widdle birdie. That is so cute :-) My B&G like to tuck her head into her wings and when she opens her eyes, she looks like a bit like the neighborhood watch signs lol.
