to me, the word gay is kind of like a word fuck. it can be used in many different ways, and sometimes, the word will offend people. notice how "Fuck you" and "I want to fuck you" mean two different things. in the same way "You're gay" (said to my gay friend when he starts making out with his bf) and "That's gay" (said to a rather heinous sweater) take on two very different meanings. so sometimes i get irritated when people rag on me for using the word because it's offensive.
