Pete Brault's incredible Hemi DeSoto from Quebec suprised and even thrilled me, what a beautiful example. Pete previously owned a '64 Hemi Sport Fury with Sox & Martin crash box 4 speed and a '68 GTX convertible. A man with taste!

The forgotten "HEMI" - they called it a firedome and it died with Desoto but the firepower lived on to fight another day - right up to the present,

My mother owned one exactly like this, when I was a kid. As I recall, they gave it to our neighbors when we moved from Georgia to Louisiana, because they needed a car and we had a new Pontiac station wagon. We're talking 1971 or 1972, i guess.

I love that car. The white walls are bit too wide for me, but other than that, it's perfect.

Thanks for showing a beautifully restored example, and not a modified one. In some respects, the Firedome was more attractive than the Fireflyte in that it was a little more restrained in the use of chrome.

Nice example from 1956 model year DeSoto - don't recognize the wire wheel rims though, I think the factory ones had a small two-ear stamped spinner.
