Family Ties -
"A Keaton Chrismas Carol" - Part 2

Original Airdate: December 14th 1983

Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" inspires this episode featuring Alex as the Keaton Scrooge.

A cynical Alex finds the spirit of Christmas in a dream, when he´s shown shocking visions of the past and future by ghosts of Mallory and Jennifer.

While the family enjoys trimming the tree, singing carols and taking pictures, Alex would rather listen to stock reports and finds Christmas "a silly sentimental farce" - except for the commercialism. That evening, when he drifts off to sleep, Jennifer - The Ghost of Christmas Past - takes him back ten years to a scene in the Keaton living room and a time when young Alex loved Christmas. Next, the Ghost of Christmas Future - Mallory - appears and transports Alex 15 years ahead in time. The impoverished Keaton household is a sorry sight, visited by a rich fat cat on his way to Las Vegas - the future Alex.

Written by Rich Reinhart
Directed by Will Mackenzie
Guest star: Chris Hebert as Young Alex and Kaleena Kiff as Young Mallory

  • 1000 pardons lol

  • @corrupt200 Nick was not in the show yet.

  • For the love of God, Alex is creepy looking in the future.

  • @corrupt200, good one.

  • @BlackStallionWoman that comment was posted in 2008 or 2009. I know that he is 50 now. For his big 5-0 I did a whole MJF marathon that started on June 9 and ended on June 13. I watched the BTTF trilogy, Family Ties episodes that focused more on Alex, Bright Lights Big City, For Love or Money, Greedy, The Hard Way, and The Secret of My Success

  • Alex, you're a big scrooge, literally as a 47 year old man. I hope you learn your lesson. If I was the Ghost of the present, I'd kick you in the shins, and smack you upside the head for being a douche, but then I'd kiss yoou and say "you drive me bonkers, but I don't care." And Alex, when you kiss me, you'll like it.

  • @corrupt200, Marty's hotter than Alex.

  • @corrupt200, he is 50. His birthday was last week on the 9th

  • Alex wasn't a scrooge as a kid. Yay! Look at him as a teen, and a grown man. Such a self absorbed, money grabbing scrooge. Whenever I watch Homeward Bound with Michael J. Fox in it, and the Muppet's Christmas Carol and when they ask about the jerk and a girl say "it's ebineezer scrooge," I say "It's Alex P. Keaton."

  • Go to a Keaton Christmas carol by AnnieQC74 and fastforward to 1:40 and you'll find it
