Luisa had a closed rhinoplasty procedure to correct her narrow internal nasal valve, deviated septum and remove the hump on her nose. This is the footage from her surgery.

Enter the operating room as Rhinoplasty Specialist Dr. Paul Nassif performs a septoplasty procedure combined with a Septal Baton Graft to correct her nasal obstruction.

Septoplasty is a surgical procedure used to correct the shape of the septum due to defects or deformities. The nasal septum is the separation between the nostrils. Septoplasty may be performed during a rhinoplasty procedure. When performed together, this may be referred to septorhinoplasty.

There are a number of ways to correct a crooked or deviated septum. Your surgeon may simply remove the portion of the septum that is crooked and blocking the airway. If that isn't the best option, your surgeon may make small cuts or fractures in the septum and realign it to make it straighter. When this procedure is performed alone without any cosmetic reshaping of the nose, it's called septoplasty.

Luisa's before and after photos reveal a softer nasal appearance. She has also experienced improvement in breathing.

Closed rhinoplasty involves incisions which are confined to the inside of the nose. Though this results in no visible scarring, the procedure offers less visibility of the inside of the nose and is typically not possible for more complex cases. Hump reduction, on the other hand, can be performed with closed rhinoplasty.
