The second installment of the Tuesday Tips for Woodwinds! Today we look into a way to maximize your use of the metronome. I play a very famous orchestral excerpt for oboe... do you know what it is?

  • Great video! I don't think that people realize how much work goes (or should go) into practicing!

  • @genmaximus110 It's Ravel's "Le Tombeau de Couperin" and it's called for on pretty much every oboe audition...oboists typically learn to resent it from an early age haha

  • as I always say, "slowly, slowly, slowly"

    Thanks for uploading this.

  • This is really helpful! :) My teacher had me doing something similar but I like this idea better. I am going to use this for my audition excerpts! thanks so much!

  • I've never heard that oboe excerpt before. It's quite something.
