This is a dramatic reading of "Gravity is a Mystery", a blog by the Stand-Up Physicist available at Science20.com. As the title suggests, neither Newton's theory for gravity nor Einstein's work provide a reason why gravity works. I ask the question how would one describe the Universe if they are all alone? One could do math with time: addition of time (aging), subtraction to visit memories of the past, multiplication, and anything that can be done with real numbers. If anything enters this otherwise isolated world, then new math could be done: mirror reflections, and at least two forms of multiplication, one that respects handedness and another that is oblvious to it. When the multiplication that respects handedness is used in the tools of field theory, out pops Maxwell's field equations for light. When the other type of multiplication is used, then in the static case, we get Newton's law of gravity. This may be a new step in the right direction, but there is much to do.
