Adam is an amazing songwriter (not to mention, a very funny and interesting guy) but the interviewer here was worse than horrible.
If Adam had been asked a few interesting questions, there may have some real insights or funny stories offered, but a crappy interviewer will only get awkward responses.
What a wasted opportunity.

Adam illustrates a common problem.... even great songwriters don't fully understand how they write a song and certainly have no idea how to teach someone else to do it.... Songwriting can be taught.... but it is an entirely different skill than songwriting itself....
